Cream Puffs
Ingredients:
For Cream Puff Shells-
1 Cup water
½ Cup Oil
½ Teaspoon Salt
1 Cup Flour
4 Eggs
(optional) Confectionary sugar
For Cream Filling-
1 Cup heavy whipping cream, chilled
2 Tablespoons sugar
½ Teaspoon of vanilla extract
Directions:
For Cream Puff Shells-
- Preheat Oven to 450°
- Bring water to a boil and add the oil and salt then stir
- Sift flour and add all at once to the mixture
- Beat the mixture rapidly over a low heat until mixture forms a dough
- Remove from heat
- Add the eggs two at a time, beat in hard after each. The mixture should be smooth and shiny
- Drop on parchment paper prepared pan 2 inches apart
- Bake at 450° for 20 minutes
- Reduce heat to 350° for 15-20 minutes.
- Cool away from drafts
For Filling- - Combine heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract
- Beat mixture on medium high speed until stiff peaks form
- Put mixture into a piping bag
- Once the shells are cool, pipe the cream by pushing the piping tip into the side of the puff and pipping until it is filled
- Sprinkle on some confectionary sugar if desired
- Enjoy!
