Cream Puff Recipe

With all the get togethers, plans, and parties that happen around the holidays, why not try something light, fluffy, and airy to indulge in. Perfect for holiday parties, or relaxation in between, these heavenly little treats are perfect for any occasion!

Cream Puffs

Ingredients:

For Cream Puff Shells-
1 Cup water
½ Cup Oil
½ Teaspoon Salt
1 Cup Flour
4 Eggs
(optional) Confectionary sugar

For Cream Filling-
1 Cup heavy whipping cream, chilled
2 Tablespoons sugar
½ Teaspoon of vanilla extract

Directions:
For Cream Puff Shells-

  1. Preheat Oven to 450°
  2. Bring water to a boil and add the oil and salt then stir
  3. Sift flour and add all at once to the mixture
  4. Beat the mixture rapidly over a low heat until mixture forms a dough
  5. Remove from heat
  6. Add the eggs two at a time, beat in hard after each. The mixture should be smooth and shiny
  7. Drop on parchment paper prepared pan 2 inches apart
  8. Bake at 450° for 20 minutes
  9. Reduce heat to 350° for 15-20 minutes.
  10. Cool away from drafts
    For Filling-
  11. Combine heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract
  12. Beat mixture on medium high speed until stiff peaks form
  13. Put mixture into a piping bag
  14. Once the shells are cool, pipe the cream by pushing the piping tip into the side of the puff and pipping until it is filled
  15. Sprinkle on some confectionary sugar if desired
  16. Enjoy!
